The Aspen-to-Miami corridor is one of the most established winter migrations in U.S. private aviation. Aspen's ski season runs late November through early April, overlapping precisely with Miami's high season — Art Basel and Design Miami in early December, the Miami International Boat Show in February, and the broader snowbird calendar that fills Faena, the Setai, and the Four Seasons Surf Club from December through March. Many clients we coordinate for keep residences or memberships at both ends and move between them every few weeks. The route is also common in summer, when Aspen's music festival and the Food & Wine Classic draw Miami-based travelers in the opposite direction.

Opa-Locka Executive Airport — IATA code OPF, ICAO code KOPF — is Miami's primary private-aviation field, sitting about 25 minutes by car from South Beach and roughly the same to Brickell, depending on traffic on the 95 and the MacArthur Causeway. Its 8,002-foot runway accommodates everything up to ultra-long-range heavy jets without restriction. Signature Flight Support, Atlantic Aviation, and Fontainebleau Aviation operate FBOs on the field. Aero Benny coordinates FBO ramp arrival, customs is not required for domestic legs, and chauffeured ground transport to hotels on Collins Avenue, Brickell, or Coral Gables — typically a black SUV or Sprinter for parties traveling with ski equipment and significant luggage.

At roughly 1,620 nautical miles, the corridor sits within the range of midsize, super-midsize, and heavy jets, but Aspen's altitude shapes the conversation. KASE sits at 7,820 feet, and summer density-altitude effects combined with the surrounding terrain mean most operators plan payload conservatively — heavy jets such as the Gulfstream G450, Falcon 7X, or Global 5000 can fly the route, but may carry reduced fuel or passenger loads out of Aspen and tanker the difference at a lower-altitude departure on the return. Miami arrivals are about the first night, not the airport. Standard coordination includes meet-and-greet at the OPF FBO, chauffeured SUV or Sprinter transfer to Faena, the Setai, the Edition Miami Beach, the Four Seasons Surf Club, or a private residence in Brickell or Star Island. Dinner reservations at Carbone, Cote, Le Bilboquet, Casadonna, or Stubborn Seed are arranged in advance — these tables are notoriously difficult during Art Basel and the boat show.
