Private Jet from Miami (OPF) to Casa de Campo (LRM)
Miami's private aviation activity does not happen at MIA — it happens at Opa-Locka Executive Airport (OPF), the dedicated business aviation field about fifteen minutes north of downtown. For clients departing from South Beach, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, or the Miami finance corridor, OPF is the default. At roughly 870 nautical miles, La Romana is the shortest private jet hop into Casa de Campo from any major U.S. market. Aero Benny coordinates the charter and orchestrates the arrival: villa, yacht, golf, and concierge.

Why Opa-Locka, not MIA, for private aviation
Opa-Locka Executive Airport (OPF / KOPF) is Miami's business aviation hub. Multiple FBOs (Signature, Atlantic, Fontainebleau) maintain facilities, and customs and immigration are coordinated for outbound charter flights without the queues of commercial terminals. The airport's location north of the city often saves clients ground time versus alternatives. For Casa de Campo-bound trips specifically, OPF's proximity to LRM — under two hours of flight time — keeps repositioning costs low and operator availability high.
Arrival at La Romana International (LRM / MDLR)
La Romana International — IATA LRM, ICAO MDLR — is the closest private aviation airport to Casa de Campo, sitting roughly eight minutes from the resort gates by chauffeured car. Owned by Central Romana Corporation, the airport has a 9,678-foot runway that handles aircraft up to heavy jets. FBO support is available through partners including Universal Aviation and Servair. Aero Benny coordinates customs and immigration, FBO handling, and ground transit to your villa.
Recommended aircraft for the Miami → LRM route
At roughly 870 nautical miles, the Miami–La Romana corridor is well within the range of every light jet category and most very-light jets. Light jets such as the Embraer Phenom 300 or Cessna Citation CJ4 will complete the trip in about two hours and ten minutes. Midsize aircraft such as the Citation XLS+ are common on this route as well, particularly for groups of five to eight or when traveling with significant luggage. Super-midsize jets are typically reserved for larger parties or for trips where the return repositioning is the deciding factor. Aircraft type is confirmed with the operator at the time of quote.
What we coordinate on the ground
Many of our Miami clients keep a regular cadence with Casa de Campo, treating it as a weekend extension of South Florida. The familiar pattern: depart OPF Friday afternoon, golf at Teeth of the Dog Saturday morning, La Marina yacht to Catalina Saturday afternoon, dinner at Altos de Chavón Saturday night, brunch at the resort Sunday, depart LRM Sunday afternoon. We coordinate every element of that arc — villa check-in, golf cart, tee times, yacht charter, restaurant reservations, and the chauffeured car back to the FBO.
